Glass streaks. Stainless steel scratches over time. Kitchen counters get wiped before the formula has had time to work. Four surfaces, four mistakes, four fixes.
Glass and mirrors
The mistake: wiping in circles. Circular motion redistributes residue instead of removing it.
The fix: spray from 20 centimetres, then wipe in one direction only, top to bottom. Use a clean microfibre cloth, never paper towels, which leave lint.
Stainless steel
The mistake: wiping against the grain. Stainless steel has a visible directional grain. Wiping across it traps particles instead of lifting them and causes fine scratches over time.
The fix: identify the grain direction, usually lengthwise on appliances and sinks, then wipe with it and dry immediately to prevent mineral spotting.
Kitchen counters
The mistake: spraying and wiping immediately. Most formulas need dwell time to actually disinfect, not just clean.
The fix: spray, wait 30 to 60 seconds for light cleaning or 2 to 3 minutes for disinfection, then wipe. For food prep surfaces, follow with a damp cloth pass.
Tiles and grout
The mistake: one pass over the whole area. Grout is porous and traps both the cleaner and the lifted debris on a single wipe.
The fix: spray, let it sit 2 to 3 minutes, scrub grout lines with a firm brush, then wipe the full surface.
